Stacking Bins vs Shelf Bins – which is for me?

Today I will talk you through the difference between stacking bins and shelf bins to help you determine which is better suited for your warehouse.

The biggest difference is as it sounds. Stacking bins are designed to stack on one another whereas shelf bins are designed to be placed in shelves.

Both are designed for the same general use. Store your supplies such as tools in an organized way with bins. With many different colors and bin sizes you can add a personal flair to your bins order.

To decipher if you need stacking or bin shelves the first thing to consider is space. A stacking bin takes up less space than a shelf bin, but a it not as easily accessible as shelf bins. With a stacking bin you can decide how much space you take up whereas with shelf bins, the shelf determines that amount of space that gets used.

If you’re the items you are storing get daily use we recommend shelf bins since they can be accessed easily. For items that need storage and are not used often a stacking bin system is a good idea.
